Erma S. Wulff

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. today at Trinity Lutheran Church, 140 N. 7th Ave., West Bend, for Erma S. Wulff (nee Wolfgram) of West Bend (formerly of Cedarburg). Erma entered into eternal peace on Monday, May 22, 2006 at Cedar Lake Healthcare Center at the age of 91. The Rev. David Schoob will officiate the funeral service. Visitation with family and friends will be held today (at the church only) from 5 p.m. until the time of the funeral service. Interment will take place at Lakefield Cemetery in the town of Grafton at 11 a.m. Friday. The Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend is assisting the family.

Erma was born on Feb. 7, 1915 to Robert and Banake (nee Benicke) Wolfgram in the town of Cedarburg, where she grew up on the family homestead. Because Erma lost her mother at the age of 7, she dedicated her time to helping her father both with the farm chores and raising her siblings. In later years, Erma became a housekeeper at a nearby farm where she met Louis W. Wulff. One day the sewing machine that she had been using broke, and she had asked Louis, who was a landscaper at the same farm, to help her fix it. From that day on the two were inseparable and married on Oct. 28, 1937 in Iowa.

Erma and Louis resided in Grafton and began a landscaping business of their own, Wulff Sod Company and Nursery. Erma did the bookkeeping for their business, along with starting and raising their family. She loved working with the earth and planting flowers and vegetables with her son, Gerald. She also enjoyed taking care of and assisting her parents-in-law, because family meant the world to her.

Erma is survived by her dear son Gerald Wulff of West Bend and her sister Erna Haeuser of Mequon. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other special relatives and dear friends. Erma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Louis (on April 12, 1985); her dear children Jimmy, Lori and Kenneth; and her brothers Rudy and Fritz Wolfgram.

The family would like to extend their appreciation for memorials in honor of Erma donated to Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend or the Threshold, 600 Rolfs Ave., West Bend, WI 53090.
