Elming A. Johnson
Elming A. Johnson, of Hartford, was Born to Eternal Life, Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006 at the age of 78 years. He was born March 21, 1928, in Ashland, the son of Elming A. and Bernice (nee Anderson) Johnson Sr. He was raised by his stepmother, Mary Louise.
He married Marion Bauers in 1949 in Milwaukee. He served his country in World War II in the U.S. Navy. He was the president of A-OK Box Company in Milwaukee for 25 years. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, loved to be on his computer and enjoyed working in his flower and vegetable garden. He dearly loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving bride, Marion, of 57 years. Dearest father of Bill (Linda) Johnson of West Bend, Laura (Richard) Burki of Cudahy, Dan (D.D.) Johnson of Cedar Grove, John (Sandy) Johnson of Big Bend, Jim (Donna) Johnson of Greenfield and Peggy (Cory) Shuda of Sussex. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a brother and four sisters, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A special thank-you to his good neighbors and special friends, Jim and Claudia Kollenbroich.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
The memorial service will be Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. at Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, 226 S. Main St., Hartford, with Rev. Richard J. Stoffel officiating. Family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m.
