Lois H. Hackbarth

Lois H. Hackbarth of Hustisford, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006 at the age of 91 years. She was born in Granville, the daughter of Walter F. and Stella N. (nee Hanks) Kirchhoff.

She married Harry Hackbarth on May 7, 1938 in Milwaukee. Lois was a stay-at-home mom who loved taking care of her family.

She was a great cook and loved making the kids chocolate chip cookies.

Lois is survived by her children Frederick W. (Karen) Hackbarth of Juneau, Nancy Meyer of Hustisford, Allen H. (Lyn) Hackbarth of Iron Ridge, and Peggy E. (Dennis) Grosenick of Lebanon; seven grandchildren, Brian (Jenni) Hackbarth and Brenda (Josh) Malitz, Gary Meyer, Debra (Aaron) Leitzke, Steven (Erin) Hackbarth, and Erica and James Grosenick; two great-grandsons, Gavin and Hoyt; and her sisters-in-law, Eleanor Kirchhoff and Alvira Hackbarth. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry; son-in-law, Edward Meyer; her sisters, Mildred Seramur and Florence Klossner; and her brothers, Warren and Delwin Kirchhoff. Lois is the last of the immediate Kirchhoff family.

Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 3, 2006 from 4-7 p.m. at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home in Hustisford. The service will follow at 7 p.m. Interment will be on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Hustisford Cemetery.

Memorials to the Hustisford Fire Department/EMS will be appreciated.
