Shirley P. Brown
Shirley P. Brown, 85, of Pleasant Hill, Calif., passed away at her home on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5, at St. James Episcopal Church, 148 S. Eighth Ave., West Bend, with interment immediately following.
Father Kenneth Carroll will officiate.
Mrs. Brown was born in Rochester, N.Y., to Gertrude and Earle Patterson.
She was a graduate of Monroe High School and Rochester Athenáenum and Mechanics Institute.
After her marriage, she lived in Lewiston, N.Y., until moving to West Bend, following her husbandís retirement.
She moved to Pleasant Hill, two years ago.
Mrs. Brown was a dedicated volunteer all of her life. She served in various capacities at Memorial Hospital and St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Niagara Falls, N.Y., and as president of the Service League, The Tatler and Lewiston Historical Society while she lived in Lewiston.
In West Bend, she was active in St. James Episcopal Church, the lymphedema support group and PEO chapter DZ.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Peter and Sharon Brown of Northville, Mich., Susan and Edward Nona of Lafayette, Calif. and Nancy and David Morgan of Macon, Ga.; her sister, Barbara Smith of Carlisle, Pa.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles M. Brown, and a brother, William E. Patterson.
