Marcella J. Michels
Marcella J. Michels, formerly Miller, of West Bend died on Friday, Nov. 3, 2006 at the Samaritan Health Center at the age of 97 years.
She was born on March 12, 1909 in West Bend to the late Edwin and Josephine (nee Jansen) Miller.
On Oct. 26, 1931, she was united in marriage to Robert J. "Corky" Michels at Holy Angels Catholic Church. Corky predeceased on Dec. 21, 1997.
Marcella spent the majority of her life in the West Bend area. She, along with her husband, spent a great many years in the restaurant/tavern industry. To-gether, they managed the Mermac Restaurant and Bar with Mar-cella’s sister and brother-in-law, Lucille "Tudy" and Charlie Palt. They then managed Corky’s Bar in West Bend until their retirement.
Being one who always enjoyed cooking and baking, Marcella derived much pleasure in sharing goodies with family and friends.
Survivors include one brother Edwin (Lucille) Miller of West Bend; a sister, Lucille "Tudy" Palt-Eisen of West Bend; three sisters-in-law; Rosie Kuehl of Kewaskum, Eleanor Miller of West Bend and Evelyn Miller of San Jose, Calif. nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Roman "Jim" Miller, LeRoy Miller and Harvey Miller; five brothers-in-law, Charles Palt, Harold Eisen, Claude Michels, Richard Michels and Wes Kuehl and two sisters-in-law, Angeline Michels and Camilla Merten.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church with Fr. Jeff Haines presiding. Burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church only on Monday from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m.
