Peter Carlyle Fay
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Nov. 12 for Peter Carlyle Fay of Countryside Lake (Mundelein), Ill. at Advent Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. On Nov. 19, a memorial service for Peter will also be held at Prairie Crossing Charter School in Grayslake, Ill. (time still to be determined). Pete was involved in an aircraft accident on his 48th birthday on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006.
Pete was a 1976 graduate of Cedarburg High School and a 1981 graduate of UW-Madison.
He was an accomplished commercial hot air balloon pilot and a member of the local EAA chapter. Pete was also active as a regular volunteer at Prairie Crossing Charter School in Grayslake, Ill.
Pete is survived by his spouse Laura Elizabeth Fay; daughter Arielle (age 8); and son Forrest (age 6). He is also survived by his parents Carlyle and Marjorie Fay of Cedarburg; sister Margaret (Jim) Holland-Fay Coulson and nieces Deidre and Jamie Coulson of Hudson; brother-in-law Daryll Graham, niece Jessica and nephew Matthew Graham of McMurray, Pa.; and mother-in-law Margaret Coerper of Cedarburg.
The Fay family has requested friends to memorialize Pete by sending an anecdote, a funny story, pictures or other memories of the kind of man that Pete was or how he impacted lives.
In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund has been established for Arielle and Forrest Fay at the State Bank of the Lakes located at 50 Commerce Drive in Grayslake, IL 60030. Contributions to Prairie Crossing Charter School in Grayslake are also encouraged.
