Leona Garcia, (nee Sawyer), 89, of Slinger passed away on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006 at Aurora Medical Center of Hartford.
Leona was born on Sept. 15, 1917 in Newburg to Ralph and Katherine (nee Birlem) Sawyer. She was a dedicated employee of Badger Meter for over 30 years, retiring in 1980. In her free time, Leona enjoyed working on her sonís tree farm and above all, she loved spending time with her family.
Leona will be deeply missed by her children, Lenora (Jerry) Glover of Kingston and Peter (Ardyce) Garcia of West Bend; her five grandchildren, Joel (Lori) Wirth, Jennifer (Robert Pasbrig) Wirth, and Peter, Nina and Hunter Garcia; two stepgrandchildren, Wayne (Kelly) Glover and Wanda (Greg) Disterhaft; four great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
Leona is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other special relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Ronald Mozetic; three brothers and three sisters.
A brief reflection of Leonaís life will be held at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend, on Monday, Nov. 13, at 6:30 p.m.
Visitation with family and friends will also be held on Monday from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Cremation will be at the Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend.
