Claudia C. Gundrum
Claudia C. Gundrum (nee Hefter) of Allenton entered into eternal peace on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006 at Aurora Medical Center of Hartford, after 94 years of life. Claudia was born on June 13, 1912, the daughter of Frank J. and Amalia A. (nee Wolf) Hefter, in the town of Addison on the family farm. On June 5, 1933, she married Norman A. Gundrum. After marriage, the couple began a family of their own. She lived her entire life in Addison, up until the last 10 months that she spent living at Wellington Place in Hartford.
She will be missed by her children, Howard and Janice Gundrum of West Bend and Carol Gundrum of Hartford; her grandchildren, Scott and Terri Gundrum of Slinger, Guy Gundrum and friend, Suzanne, of Fond du Lac, Diana and Gary Sutherland of Oconomowoc, and Cindy and Kevin Lucht of Horicon; seven great-grandchildren, Michael, Brian, and Natalie Gundrum, Paige and Jonah Sutherland, and Jordan and MacKenzie Lucht; and two sisters, Natalia "Dolly" Stoffel of Allenton, and Armella Warnecke of Fond du Lac. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other very special relatives, and dear friends. Claudia was greeted at the gates of Heaven by her 12 siblings, Julia Lechner, Magdolena Hug, Marie Hefter, Monica Johannes, Fridolin Hefter, Gregor Hefter, Jerome Hefter, Cathrine Hefter, Ewald Hefter, Pauline Martin, and Sylvester Hefter; her parents, Frank and Amalia; and her husband, Norman A. Gundrum.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006 at Resurrection Parish in Allenton, with Father Richard J. Stoffel officiating. Visitation with family and friends was on Wednesday at the church prior to the Mass.
The Gundrum family would like to express a very heartfelt thanks to Dr. Pirvanescu, all the nurses at Aurora Medical Center of Hartford, and the staff of Wellington Place for their care given to Claudia and her family.
Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend assisted the family.
