Emma Venzina Mittelstadt
Emma Venzina Mittelstadt of Hartford passed away Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006 at the age of 100 years. She was born on Jan. 26, 1906 in the town of Rubicon, the daughter of Otto and Emma (nee Koch) Callies. She married Milton Mittelstadt at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Huilsburg on Sept. 1, 1928. Emma enjoyed knitting and crocheting. When she was able, she enjoyed her big vegetable and flower garden. Emma was a lifetime member of Peace Lutheran Ladies Aid. Her home church was Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Huilsburg, and when she moved to Hartford, became a member of Peace Lutheran Church.
Emma was the loving mother of Florence (Norman) Lisko of Mayville, Edna (Carroll) Ehlers of Mayville, Elroy (Rosemarie) Mittelstadt of Mayville, Myrtle Callies of Hartford, Arthur (Ann) Mittelstadt of Juneau, Ralph Mittelstadt of Oakfield, and Sharon Crooks of Slinger. Emma is also survived by her sister-in-law, Ivy Callies; 28 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton, in 1963; her son-in-law, Raymond Callies; daughter-in-law, Gloria Mittelstadt; her sisters, Leona (Charles)Berndt, Selma and Clara Callies, Magdelena (Gilbert) Moldenhauer, and Vivian (Armond) Boeder; and her brothers, Henry (Gertrude), George (Gertrude), and Arnold Callies, her sister-in-law Gladys Rufener and brother-in-law Alfred Rufener.
Visitation is Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006 at Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home in Hartford from 5-8:30 p.m., and Friday, Nov. 9, 2006 from 10-11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at church. Rev. David Weitzke will officiate.
Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
