Viola H. Schall
Viola H. Schall, nee Kurtz, of Slinger, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 13, 2006 at her residence, after 90 years of life.
Viola was born on April 9, 1916, the daughter of John and Emma (nee Barwind) Kurtz in Acker-ville, where she was raised, and graduated from Slinger High School in 1934.
On June 18, 1938, Viola devoted her love and her life to LeRoy C. Schall.
After marriage, the couple began a loving family of their own.
Viola loved cooking, playing cards, and above all, she most enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Viola was a former 4-H leader, and was a member of the Women’s Guild at Faith United Church of Christ.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved by her dear children, David (Pam) Schall and Kathy (Dan) Schneider, both of West Bend, Richard Schall and Elaine Burg, both of Slinger, Larry (Lynn) Schall of Cedarburg, Ivan (Melinda) Schall of Slinger and Diana Jensen of West Bend; her 15 treasured grandchildren; and seven adored great-grandchildren.
She will also be missed by her sisters-in-law, Edna Schall of West Bend and Elva Schall of Slinger; her brother-in-law, Franklin Schall of Big Cedar Lake; two very special people to Viola, Ellen Hembel and Jim Oaklief; many nieces, nephews, other special relatives, and many dear friends.
She was greeted at the gates of heaven by her parents; her parents-in-law; her husband, LeRoy, who passed away on Jan. 15, 1994; two sisters, Melinda Lehman and Norma Oelhafen; two sisters-in-law, Margie Schall and Vera Schall; and five brothers-in-law, Ed Lehman, Ira Oelhafen, Norman Schall, Daniel Schall, and Eugene Schall.
A funeral service to celebrate the full life of Viola will be held on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 11 a.m. at Faith United Church of Christ, 2895 Slinger Road, Slinger, with Pastor Carol Maher officiating.
Visitation will be held for family and friends on Friday at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend, from 4 to 7 p.m.
A continued visitation will be held on Saturday at Faith United Church of Christ, from 10 until 11 a.m.
Interment will take place in Faith Cemetery following the funeral service on Saturday.
