Douglas L. Witz

Douglas L. Witz of the town of Hartford passed away Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was 63 years old.

He was born Aug. 26, 1943 in Milwaukee to Louis and Laura (nee Bergermeister) Witz.

He married Kathy Kermott on June 7, 1971 at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in New Berlin.

Doug worked for Universal Brixius for five years. He was a former vice president for many years for the National Management Association.

He was a leader with the 4-H Club and Cub Scouts and involved with Junior Achievement through work. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, NASCAR racing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Kathy; his three children, Alison (fiancˇ Michael Herbst) Midgal of Hartford, Diana Knepprath of Watertown and Douglas Witz (Patti Jo James) of West Bend; nine grandchildren, Kamie, Hailie, Shiane, Brettny, Ryan, Kaleb, Melody, Ethan, and Ashley; two brothers, Dennis Witz of Portgage, Mich., and Darrell Welch of Colgate; one step-sister, Betty (the late Robert) Struhar of Mequon; one step-brother, Bob (Kay) Bastian of Brookfield; and his faithful companions, Angel and Dakota.

Doug is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and loving step-mother, Peggy Witz.

Funeral services for Doug were Monday, Nov. 13, 2006 at Divine Savior Lutheran Church in Hartford, with Rev. Ricky Schroeder officiating.

Family greeted relatives and friends on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2006 at Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford, and on Monday at the church prior to the service.

Private Inurnment was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
