Eugene J. Stark

Eugene J. Stark, 89, of Kaukauna, formerly of West Bend, died on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006 at St. Paul Elder Home in Kaukauna.

He was born on March 19, 1917 in Appleton to the late Joseph and Laura (nee Rusch) Stark, and on Sept. 27, 1941, he was united in marriage to Beatrice C. Landwehr in Isaar.

During World War II, Eugene served with the United States Navy in the Pacific Theater.

Following his discharge in 1945, he returned to the Appleton area. He then became employed with the National Food Store as a manager.

In 1950, the family moved to West Bend.

In 1960, Eugene started working as an insurance agent with Prudential Insurance, retiring in 1979.

In August, 2005, the couple moved to Kaukauna.

Eugene was a member of the Fred A. Schaefer VFW Post 1393.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Ronald (Joanne) of Edin-boro, Pa., James (Cindy) of Superior, Richard (Marcy) of Lake Ridge, Va., Robert of Slinger and Terry of Madison; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Alice Fermanich of Appleton and Myrtle (Gene) Prisco of Pelham Manor, N.Y.; a brother-in-law, John (Marilyn) Landwehr of Appleton; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a sister in infancy and a half-sister. Sylvia Stark.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Nov. 20, at 11 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Father Gerald Brittain presiding.

Burial will be in Holy Angels Cemetery.

The family will greet relatives and friends during a period of visitation at the church only on Monday from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m.

The family has requested memorials to the Holy Angels School Trust Fund or the Holy Angels Building Fund.

The Schmidt Funeral Home of West Bend is serving the family.
