Bruce Jeffrey Jonas
Bruce Jeffrey Jonas, 41, of Minocqua died unexpectedly on Monday, Nov. 20, 2006 at Camp 5 Hunting Shack in Land ‘O Lakes.
He was born in West Bend on Oct. 5, 1965 to Donald and Kay (nee Kuechler) Jonas.
Bruce graduated from Slinger High School in 1984, and graduated from the Uni-versity of Wis-consin-Eau Claire with honors, with a degree in business administration.
Graduating with honors from UW-Eau Claire entitled him to a full ride at Marquette University, where he received his masters in economics in 1989.
Bruce worked at M&I Bank in downtown Milwaukee, Austin Mortgage as a mortgage broker before joining River Valley Bank where he was currently its vice president.
He was executive director of Klondike Days from 1997-2002, committee member for Ducks Unlimited and was very active in the Wisconsin Water ski Federation where he held positions as vice president and Promotions Committee chairman.
Bruce’s love of waterskiing involved him in the Chainskim-mers Ski Team, where he held positions as president, treasurer and board Member.
Other things Bruce enjoyed were fishing, hunting, camping, NASCAR, snowmobiling, hanging out at the lake, cooking and usually the Green Bay Packers.
He is survived by his wife, Rene; parents, Donald and Kay; children, Brittany, Zachariah, Ezekiel, Lyndsey and Natalie; brothers, Steven (Sue), Greg (Pam) and Brian (Lyn Marie); sisters, Karen (Doug) Kieckhafer, Lynne (Jack) Kaetterhenry and Christine (David) Krebs.
Bruce is further survived by his parents-in-law Lynn and Margaret Kirsteatter; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Beth and Steve Gregesich, Craig and Lisa Kirsteatter, Heather and Daniel Smaglik, Todd and Amy Kirsteatter, Lane and Angie Kirsteatter and Melissa and Zachery Wright and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Bruce will be held on Friday, Nov. 24, at 4:30 p.m. at the Faith Free Evangelical Church in Woodruff.
Visitation at the church will be from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rene Jonas College Fund at the River Valley State Bank for the benefit of the Jonas children.
