Kermit V. Barth

A Mass of Christian burial was held Wednesday at St. Francis Borgia South Catholic Church in Cedarburg for Kermit V. Barth of Cedarburg. Kermit passed away at the age of 86 on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006 at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Mequon. Visitation was held at the church on Wednesday, prior to the service. Interment took place at Lumen Christi Catholic Cemetery in Mequon. Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg served the family.

Kermit was born on Dec. 24, 1919 in Mequon, an only child raised on the family farm on Donges Bay Road. He married Elizabeth Lecher on May 24, 1941 at St. James Church in Mequon. Kermit was an active parish member of St. James Church, serving as trustee for 10 years and head usher. In 1956, Kermit and his wife moved to Cedarburg, and in 1984 he retired from Doerr Electric after 21 years of dedicated service. A parish member of St. Francis Borgia for 50 years, Kermit will be missed by his church family at daily Mass. His favorite pastime was gardening and yard work.

Kermit is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth; children Carol (John) Parker, Jerilynn (Thomas) Johnson, Denise (Patrick) Morison and Kim Albrecht; grandchildren John (Kristie), Jody (Gary), Daniel (Sarah), Jessie, Jeff (Lisa), Joe, Trenton, Kiel, Jaylyne and Caitlyn; great-grandchildren Jared and Hunter; and his sisters-in-law Evelyn Guttmann and Caroline Lecher. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
