Elroy E. Laubenstein

Elroy E. Laubenstein, 83, of Mayville, formerly of Cedarburg, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006 at the Christian Home and Rehabilita-tion Center in Waupun.

He was born May 16, 1923 in Grafton to the late Erwin and Renata (nee Benicke) Laubenstein and married Frieda M. Rauth on June 23, 1945 at First Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cedarburg.

Elroy was a dairy farmer his entire life, retiring in 1993.

He loved his animals, especially his horses.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Frieda; a son, Ronald (Cindy) of Mayville; five grandchildren, Richard (Carriann), Ryan (special friend Fran Margaret), Randall, Robert and Roger; and two great-grandchildren, Dalton and Avery Lauben-stein.

He is further survived by two brothers, Roman (LaVerne) of West Bend and Howard (Shirley) of Campbellsport; two sisters, Elvera (Charles) Voss and Elmyra (David) Martin, both of West Bend; a brother-in-law, Alfred Rauth of Cedarburg; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Armin (Bernice) and Marvin (Angie); and a sister-in-law, Gloria Rauth.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church, Lomira.

Rev. Daniel Schmidt will officiate, and burial will follow in Trinity Ev. Lutheran Cemetery in Jackson.

Visitation will be Wednesday at the church only from 10 a.m. until 12:15 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church, Lomira, or the Winnebago Lutheran Academy are appreciated.
