Roman J. Warnecke
Roman J. Warnecke, formerly of Colgate and Neosho, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006 at Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 94 years.
He was born July 29, 1912 in the town of Addison to Nicholas and Anna (nee Wiedmeyer) Warnecke. He was married to Sylvestra Ritger.
Roman is survived by five children, Janet (Anthony Sr.) Limbach of West Bend, Earl Warnecke of Neosho, Jean (Dr. Gerald) Gleisner of West Bend, Judith (Vincent) Strupp of Hartford, and Al (Pat) Warnecke of Iron Ridge: 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lorraine Aufdermauer of Allenton, Isabelle Breuer of West Bend, and Marcella Becker of Hartford; and a sister-in-law, Armella Warnecke of Fond du Lac. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife; two brothers; one sister; grandchildren Daniel Gleisner and Suzanne Limbach; and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Warnecke.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006 from 4-7 p.m. at Shimon Funeral Home in Hartford. Visitation will also be Monday, Oct. 9 from 9-10 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Neosho with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow, with Fr. Alois Van Beek officiating.
Interment will be at St. Anthony Cemetery, St. Anthony.
In lieu of flowers, masses or memorials to the American Heart Association Stroke Task Force appreciated.
