Alexander G. Lefeber

Alexander G. Lefeber, 72, of Eden was called home to his Heavenly Father on Friday, Oct. 6, 2006. He passed away at his home, following a long battle with cancer.

Alex was born June 22, 1935 in Fond du Lac, the son of Alexander P. and Ida (Abler) Lefeber and attended St. Mary Springs High School in Fond du Lac.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959 during peace time in Germany in the 11th A/C.

Alex was a retired hog farmer on the family farm near Dotyville, and also worked as a machinist for 22 1/2 years at the Gehl Co. in West Bend.

He was a devoted member of Shepherd of the Hills Parish and faithful member of the church choir.

As an active member of the community, he served as a poll worker for the town of Forest and was a former member of the Fond du Lac County Pork Producers.

He had always enjoyed the outdoors, and even before retirement would try to get away as much as possible for hunting, fishing (especially ice fishing) and relaxing with friends and family.

His love for storytelling, polka and country music, and political discussions around the table will be greatly missed.
