Luella Kissinger, 89, formerly of West Bend, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006 in Knoxville, Iowa, where she lived with her granddaughter and family for the past three years.
She was born in the town of Trenton in Washington County on Aug. 4, 1917, the daughter of Henry C. and Isabelle Burckardt Schloemer.
Luella graduated from West Bend High School in 1934 and was a graduate of Dodge County Norman.
She taught in area schools prior to her marriage to Leroy Kissinger in 1939.
Together they formed Kissinger Construction Co.
Lee and Luella lived in Campbellsport for several years.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan (Ralph) Mayer of Knoxville; her son, Curtis (Margaret) Kissinger of Campbellsport; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Jerome Kissinger and Robert (Frances) Kissinger, both of West Bend; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Kissinger and Imelda Kissinger, both of West Bend.
She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Joan Kissinger; a sister, Odessa; and two brothers, Clyde and Lee.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14 at Trinity Lutheran Church, West Bend.
Rev. David Schoob will officiate, and burial will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
The Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport, is serving the family.
