Gloria Frances Wolf
Gloria Frances Wolf was brought into the world by Margaret Fraundorf with the assistance of a midwife during a blizzard on Dec. 4, 1934 on Second Street in Hartford.
She was the middle child of nine. She attended St. Kilianís School until eighth grade and then she attended Hartford Union High School.
Gloria was a caregiver extraordinaire. She helped raise her siblings and their children. She lived with her mom and took care of her as she battled multiple sclerosis until marrying the late Burton C. Wolf on May 12, 1962.
She had one daughter, Kathleen A. Wolf, born May 10, 1965. By 1968, she began caring for her ailing husband as he fought organic brain syndrome and epilepsy. Burt preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 1996.
Gloria, being an excellent storyteller and a child at heart, made her living by babysitting.
She was an excellent manager and knew how to make the penny stretch, always providing for her family and giving extra to those in need.
Gloriaís unconditional love and strength gave Kathleen the inspiration she needed to leave Hartford, attend college in New York City, and make her life there; marrying Josh Hamilton on June 30, 2001.
Gloria was blessed with two beautiful sweet granddaughters, Kalia Frances Hamilton and Amelia Diane Hamilton.
They completed her life! Gloria could tirelessly play with them for hours. Nothing was too good for them.
Gloria lived in Hartford her whole life, spending the last seven months with her daughter and family. Gloria died in New York City after battling lung cancer on Oct. 3, 2006.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two siblings; her brother, Kenneth Fraundorf; and her sister, Shirley Soto.
In addition to her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughters, survivors include six siblings, Rosella Freda of Milwaukee, Beverly James of Cottage Grove, Joan Soto of West Bend, Robert (Judi) Fraundorf of Port Washington, Richard (Bonnie) Fraundorf of Milwaukee and Donald Fraundorf of Hartford.
The funeral service will be Friday, Oct. 13, 2006 at 2 p.m. at St. Kilianís Church in Hartford.
