Marilyn Ann Peters
Marilyn Ann Peters, nee Holtan, 74, of Slinger passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 6, 2006 at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 5, 1932 in Milwaukee to Oscar and Florence (Fitz) Holtan.
Marilyn graduated from Slinger High School in 1951 and Dodge County Teachers College in 1953.
She taught first grade and then kindergarten at Slinger Elemen-tary School from 1953 until retiring in 2005.
Marilyn served on the Slinger Library Board for over 30 years, was a 4-H leader, was very involved with Young Astronauts and the Aerospace class at summer school, World Aerospace and the Civil Air Patrol.
She was always a strong advocate for children and shared her love of reading with thousands of children over the years.
Marilyn will be sadly missed by her family.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 53 years, Donald P. Peters; five children, Allyson (Mike) Duwe, Mark (Cindy) Peters, Bruce (Patty) Peters, Julie Wethered and Leslie (Johny) Essers; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters; three sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life open house will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14 at the Slinger Elementary School gym.
