Donald A. Trepte
Donald A. Trepte of the town of Trenton died on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006 at SynergyHealth St. Joseph’s Hospital at the age of 84. He was born on March 16, 1922 in Milwaukee to the late Gustav and Florence (nee Buchholz) Trepte.
Following his high school graduation, he began working for Globe-Van Doern Corp. in Mil-waukee. He then enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps. During World War II, he served in the European Theater as a B-24 pilot, and also was a POW. After the war, he returned to Wisconsin and resumed his career with Globe-Van Doern Corp. At the time of his retirement, he was the president and chairman of the corporation.
On Jan. 12, 1944, he was united in marriage to Dorothea M. Blohm in Wauwatosa. Dorothea predeceased Aug. 23, 2001.
Donald served as a director of M&I Northern Bank, and was a member and board member of many organizations, including Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend, Alonzo Cudworth Post #23 American Legion, Fred A. Schaefer Post #1393 VFW, Milwau-kee Zoological Society, Milwaukee Builders Exchange and the Mil-waukee Rotary Club.
Survivors include two children, Terry (Susan) of the town of Trenton and Candy (Dick) Liebert of Whitefish Bay; three grandchildren Theodore (Melissa), Steven and Jeffrey Liebert; one great-grandson Trevor; one brother Ralph (Elizabeth) of Ocono-mowoc; one sister Lois Phillips of Brookfield; one aunt Bernice Schubert formerly of Waubeka; other relatives and friends.
Private family services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend with Rev. Victor Hackbarth officiating.
There will be a gathering for relatives and friends at the family farm, 6188 Highway M in the town of Trenton , on Wednesday from 2 until 4 p.m.
The family has requested memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association of Southeastern Wisconsin.
