Lambert ‘Bert’ Winnemueller, 79

Lambert John Winnemueller "Bert," dearest husband and best friend of Alyce (Schacht), died peacefully on Oct. 18, 2006 at the Kathy Hospice.

Bert loved his God, his wife and their families, and his country, having served in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1953.

Bert was born in Port Washington to John and Anna (nee Kolvenbach) Winnemueller on Aug. 28, 1927. He attended St. Mary's School in Port Washington and also Port High School.

Bert was a loyal employee of 35 years at the Wisconsin Electric Company (We Energies), retiring in 1988.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Alyce; and his children, Judy (Lou) Formato of Clermont, Fla., Diane (Peter) VandeWalle of Green Bay, Amy (Ed) Donie of Orlando, Fla., Sandra (Peter) Lundquist of Algoma, Susan Winnemueller of Orlando, Fla., Daniel Winnemueller of Orlando, Fla. and Mark Winnemueller of Denver, Colo. He is further survived by Alyce’s children, Elaine (Greg) Schiek of Conover, Wis., Peggy (Don) Wadley of Boise, Idaho, Laurie (Jim) Oswald of Iron Ridge and Nancie (Peter) Wojciechowski of Rockford, Ill.; his sisters Carol Renzel and Marcie Morauski of Port Wash-ington; siblings-in-law, Bernice Winnemuller and Rosemary Ellis of Conway, Ark., Tom (Carol) Schacht of Switzerland, Fla., and Richard (Dee Dee) Schacht of West Bend; 18 loved grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other special relatives and many dear friends.

Preceding him in death were his first wife, Phyllis; brothers Herman, Francis and John; sister Marie Merrill; and one step-daughter, Linda Kopp.

Bert was a member of Holy Trinity Parish in Newburg and St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in West Bend. He served Washington County St. Vincent DePaul for many years and loved golf, square dancing and adventure. He was a member of the VFW of Waubeka, the Young@Heart group of West Bend, Catholic Knights and the Quad Parish Ministry for Seniors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Lung Association, Kathy Hospice and Vitas Hospice, if so desired, would be appreciated.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church with Father Jeff Haines and Father Guy Gurath officiating will be held on Monday, Oct. 23, at 11 a.m.

Private burial will take place at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Newburg.

Visitation with friends and family will be held at St. Frances Cabrini Church on Monday, Oct. 23, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Mass.
