Louise Henrietta Schmidt

Louise Henrietta Schmidt, nee Grahn, 76, of Slinger, was welcomed home by her Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006 at Aurora Medical Center, Hartford.

Louise was born April 21, 1930 to William Frederick and Henrietta Helene (nee Klettke) Grahn in Fox Lake, and graduated from Randolph High School in 1949.

On May 2, 1949, Louise offered her love and life in marriage to Gordon E. Schmidt in Waukegan, Ill.

The couple was able to celebrate an admirable 57 years of marriage.

After high school, Louise was employed at Power Products in Grafton, Wisconsin for 30 honorable years and was able to enjoy her retirement in 1995.

Among her favorite past times, Louise enjoyed reading Louis Lamore books, fishing, traveling and gardening in the summer.

She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hartford.

She will be missed by her husband, Gordon Ernest Schmidt; her son, Dennis (Chris) Schmidt of Fox Lake; her grandchildren, Stephanie (Patrick) Daute of West Bend and William (Amber) Schmidt of West Bend; her great-grandchildren, Zoe Schmidt and Natalie Daute; and her brother, Carl (Ardis) Grahn of Ripon.

She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other special relatives and many dear friends.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Debra Denise.

A funeral service will be held in Louise’s honor on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 11 a.m. at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1001 Center St., Hartford, with Pastor Aaron Steinbrenner officiating.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at church.

Private burial will take place in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery.

The Phillip Funeral Home of Slinger is assisting the family.
