Clarence Otto "Clary" Engeleiter
Clarence Otto "Clary" Engeleiter Jr., of West Bend, was welcomed home by his Lord after 70 years of life, on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006 at SynergyHealth St. Joseph’s Hospital in West Bend.
Clarence was born on Feb. 27, 1936, the son of Clarence Otto Engeleiter Sr. and Adela (nee Schulz) Engeleiter in Theresa.
They raised their family in the West Bend area, where Clarence resided throughout his life .
He was a 1954 graduate of West Bend High School.
Clary was a dedicated employee at the Gehl Co. for 20 years, from which he was able to enjoy his retirement.
After retirement, he worked various jobs and continued to devote his free time to coaching senior league baseball to keep himself busy.
Clarence was an avid sports fan and was loyal to watching his favorite teams, in addition to being an avid card player and cribbage player.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in West Bend.
Clarence will be missed by his cherished children, Amy (Patrick) Boyle of Fond du Lac, Jon Engeleiter of West Bend, Polly (Bill) Gruszynski of Mari-nette, Peter Engeleiter of Hart-ford, Libby (D.J.) Burns of Milwaukee, Kurt Engeleiter of San Francisco and Patrick (fianceŽ Julie Hornack) Engeleit-er of Milwaukee; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He is further survived by his siblings, Leatrice Strupp, Delores (Richard) Fischer, Betty (Richard) Mollwitz, Minerva (Wayne) Nokes and LouAnn (Gary) Riley, all of West Bend, and David (Vi) Engeleiter of Tustin, Calif.; many nieces, nephews, other special relatives and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Myles; brothers-in-law, Eddie Strupp and Joseph Strupp; and a nephew, Jody Strupp.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Clarence will be held on Friday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend, with Rev. Mumm officiating.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m.
Interment will take place on Monday, Oct. 30, at 11:30 a.m. in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
