Elming A. Johnson

Elming A. Johnson, 78, of Hartford, was born to eternal life, Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006.

He was born March 21, 1928, in Ashland, the son of Elming A. and Bernice (nee Anderson) Johnson Sr., and was raised by his stepmother Mary Louise.

He married Marion Bauers in 1949 in Milwaukee.

Elming served his country in World War II in the United States Navy.

He was the president of A-OK Box Co. in Milwaukee for 25 years.

Elming enjoyed NASCAR racing, loved to be on his computer, and enjoyed working in his flower and vegetable garden.

He dearly loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving bride of 57 years, Marion; and was the dearest father of Bill (Linda) Johnson of West Bend, Laura (Richard) Burki of Cudahy, Dan (DD) Johnson of Cedar Grove, John (Sandy) Johnson of Big Bend, Jim (Donna) Johnson of Greenfield and Peggy (Cory) Shuda of Sussex.

Also surviving are 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother and four sisters; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Nov. 3, at 11 a.m. at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, Hartford, with Rev. Richard J. Stoffel officiating.

Family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m.
