Dorothy E. ‘Dot’ Heintz

Dorothy E. ‘Dot’ Heintz of Hartford passed away Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006 at Aurora Medical Center of Hartford. She was 88 years old. She was born Dec. 2, 1917 in the town of Erin to William and Margaret (nee Monroe) Komp. She married Clem Heintz on Sept. 4, 1937. Dorothy was a homemaker who loved her family. She enjoyed cross-stitching and crocheting. Those who knew her would say she had an infectious laugh and a good sense of humor.

She is survived by her four children, Terry Heintz (friend, Pat Luedtke) of Hartford, William (Sandy) Heintz of Torrington, Conn., Jack (Barbara) Heintz of Hartford and Marlene (Larry) Wolf of Hartford; six grandchildren, Kelly Heintz, Shannon Phillips, Timothy Heintz, Kristen Heintz, Nicole Rhode and Kyle Wolf; and three great-grandchildren, Autumn, Alexis and Logan. Dorothy is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clem in 1984; her parents; one grandchild, Crystal Heintz; one daughter-in-law, Mariana Heintz; two sisters, Catherine Neu and Ceil Schultz; and one brother, Fabian Komp.

Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy was Monday, Sept. 4, 2006 at St. Kilian Catholic Church, Hartford, with Fr. David LaPlante officiating. Family greeted relatives and friends on Monday at the church prior to the service.

Private interment was in St. Kilian Cemetery, Hartford.

Shimon Funeral Home in Hartford assisted the family.
