Marion L. Zimmel

Marion L. Zimmel, nee Michels, 90, of West Bend, died on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006 at Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk.

She was born on Aug. 24, 1916 in Newburg to the late Sebastian and Rose (nee Albinger) Michels, and on Nov. 10, 1934, she was united in marriage to Roman J. Zimmel at Holy Angels Catholic Church.

Roman passed away July 17, 1995.

Throughout the years, Marion worked at various places in West Bend, including J.C. Penny, Amity Leather Products and with the West Bend School District as a cook.

Before and following her retirement, she enjoyed spending time reading and knitting afghans for her family.

Marion was a long-time member of Holy Angels Catholic Parish.

Survivors include two sons Gerald (Carol) of Bonita Springs, Fla. and Fond du Lac and Donald (Karen) of West Bend; six grandchildren, Angela (Allen) Martin, Mitchell (Donna) and Kristin Vandermus, all of Kewaskum, Jessica (fiancˇ Steve Roehl) of Milwaukee, Stephen (Tricia) of Saukville and Amy (Adam) Inkmann of West Bend; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Eleanor (Arthur) Krueger of West Bend; four sisters-in-law, Imelda Sauer and Irene Goeden, both of West Bend, Rosalind Peterson of Arizona and Virginia Goeden of Oregon, Wis.; special friends, George and Doris Falter and Merwyn Robertson, all of West Bend; nieces; nephews; other relatives and special friends and neighbors at Park Place Condominiums.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Allen and John; a brother, Herb (Dorothy) Michels; and four brothers-in-law, Arnold Sauer, Alex Goeden, Fred Peterson and Daniel Goeden.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Sept. 9, at 11 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Father Gerald Brittain presiding.

Burial of the cremated remains will be at a later date in Holy Angels Cemetery.

Visitation at the church only will be on Saturday from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m.

Masses or memorials to Kathy Hospice are appreciated.
