Rainer J. Elsinger
Rainer J. Elsinger, 94, of West Bend died on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006 at Riverway Place Assisted Living.
He was born on Dec. 17, 1911 in the town of Hartford to the late Severin and Magdalena (nee Schnitzler) Elsinger.
In 1938 he stopped farming and started working at William Doll Pontiac in Hartford, where he remained until 1942. At that time, he began working at the West Bend Company as a forklift operator, retiring in 1975.
On Sept. 11, 1948, he was united in marriage to Dorothy C. (nee Kuester) Walter at Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend. Dorothy predeceased April 10, 2001.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the 25 Year Club at the West Bend Company.
Survivors include three stepchildren, Peggy (Harvey) Gray of Thunder Lake, Mich., Ken (Bonnie) Walter of San Francisco and Dianne (Jim) Schiller of West Bend; one stepdaughter-in-law, Janice Molter of West Bend; 10 step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Lucille Jordan of Hartford; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one stepson, Robert Molter; one brother, Norbert; and three sisters, Margaret, Marie and Olga Hesprich.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 24 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. David Schoob officiating.
Burial of the cremated remains will be in Washington County Memorial Park.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 2 until 2:45 p.m., Sunday at the church only.
The family has requested memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church.
The Schmidt Funeral Home of West Bend is serving the family.
