Charleen Nehm, nee Mueller, 79, of Hartford went to be with the Lord on Monday, Sept. 25, 2006 at the Aurora Medical Center in Hartford.
She was born July 20, 1927 at Diefenbach Corners (Slinger), to Eugene and Elizabeth (nee Kletti) Mueller, and married Carl Nehm Aug. 21, 1948 at St. Johnís United Church of Christ in Slinger.
Charleen graduated from Slinger High School in 1945 as salutatorian.
Prior to her marriage she attended a Milwaukee art school and then worked as a photography artist in Milwaukee for Ross Art Studio for a brief time.
In addition to being a wonderful loving mother, Charleen later worked at Libbyís Canning Factory in Hartford for a number of years.
She also enjoyed inspirational readings, recipes and studying history which led to her various collections.
As a long time member of St. Johnís United Church of Christ, Hartford, she enjoyed being in-volved in various activities.
One of her favorite Bible passages was John 14.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Elise (Mark) Petersen of Maple Grove, Minn. and Rosalie (Howard) Wetzel of Hart-land; a brother-in-law, Robert (Audrey) Nehm of Slinger; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Schilling of Slinger and Laila (Garvin) Pickhard of Juneau; nieces, nep-hews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; her parents; and a sister, Marianna Malsack.
Funeral services for Charleen will be held Thursday, Sept. 28, at 7 p.m. at St. Johnís UCC, 228 W. State St., Hartford, with Rev. Edward Freese officiating.
Family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday at the church only from 4- 7 p.m.
Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Slinger.
