Steve J. Kunstek

Steve J. Kunstek, 50, of Ger-mantown, passed away Monday, Sept. 25, 2006 surrounded by his family.

Steve was born Nov. 16, 1955, the son of Karl and Cecilia (nee Stank) Kunstek, in Milwaukee, where he was also raised.

He graduated from German-town’s Washington High School in 1974.

Steve was a dedicated employee at Briggs & Stratton in the quality control department for 28 years earning the position of manager, which was a great accomplishment; and was also a proud member and captain of the Germantown Volunteer Fire Department as a paramedic for 14 years.

Steve loved showing his support for the Green Bay Packers and enjoying himself at Packer parties.

He also had a special spot in his heart for nature, animals, the ocean, and he loved capturing inspiring photos of birds.

Steve has made an everlasting impression on the hearts and lives of his beloved wife, Mary L. (nee Jandt) Kunstek; his daughters, Kris (Brad) Bartkus of Cedarburg, Gina (Todd) Nixdorf of Bayview and Angie (Jason) Barkow of Jackson; grandchildren, Sophia and Frank Bartkus; and his mother, Cecilia Kunstek of Germantown.

He will also be deeply missed by two brothers; his nieces and nephews, Kevin, Kelly and Kim Kunstek of Jackson, and Nick and Peter Kunstek of Minocqua; other special relatives, and dear friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Karl.

A memorial service in honor of Steve will be held on Thursday, Sept. 28, at 7 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend,.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the memorial service on Thursday from 5 until 7 p.m.

Cremation will take place at Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend.

The family would like to give special thanks to his oncologist, Dr. H. Krouwer, Ph.D., and the special people in the neurology department at Froedtert Hospital.
