Robert C. "Bob" Miller
Robert C. "Bob" Miller, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at The Kathy House Hospice of West Bend.
He was born on Dec. 7, 1919 to Clarence and Edna (nee Sweeney) in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Bob served honorably in the United States Army in World War II and the Korean Conflict, ending his time of service as a captain, receiving the Bronze Star, Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. Bob was a member of the Alonzo Cudworth Post of the American Legion, serving on the house committee, as well as for 10 years as president of the dance club. After moving to West Bend he joined The Fohl Martin Post #483 of the American Legion.
Bob worked for Briggs and Stratton for 41 years as a salesman.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dorothy (nee Schroeder), and his brother, Ted (Lois) Miller, of Illinois. Bob is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 9, 2007 at 4 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 West Paradise Drive, West Bend with Rev. Joseph Fisher of Pilgrim Ev. Lutheran Church officiating. Family and friends may visit from 3 p.m. until the time of service Monday. Cremation will follow at Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend. Internment will take place at the Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield on a later date.
