Paul E. Speiser

Paul E. Speiser, of Leesburg, Fla. and Eagle River, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at the age of 88.

He was born Jan. 4, 1919, the son of Phillip F. and Florence E. (nee Martin) Speiser.

Paul was a long-time resident of Hartford before he moved to Eagle River and wintered in Leesburg.

He served his country in the Army-Air Force during World War II.

He worked for West Bend Outboard-Chrysler Outboard for 33 years.

Paul was past master of Hartford Masonic Lodge 120 F&AM.

Paul enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved gardening both flowers and vegetables.

Survivors include his wife, Merle of Eagle River; his children, Rae L. (Roxanne) Speiser of South Dakota, Paul K. (Sharon Ann) Speiser of Hartford and Connie M. Speiser of Hartland; eight grandchildren, Anthony Speiser and Rachel (Jeremy) Lacy, Michelle M., Paul M., Ryan P. and Juliana C. Speiser, Amy (Michael) Brehmer and Matthew Klink; two great-grandchildren, Grace and Ethan; his stepdaughter, Maureen (Tom) Smith; eight step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda (nee Hintom); his brother, John (Ruth) Speiser; an infant daughter, Betty Ann; and his stepdaughter, Mary Lou Keller..

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 11, at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, Hartford, from 5-7 p.m, followed by funeral services at 7 p.m.

Rev. Brian Kundinger will officiate, and interment will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Memorials to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
