Gerald E. Braun

Gerald E. Braun of Hartford passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at Cedar Community Health & Rehabilitation in West Bend. He was 82 years old.

He was born Nov. 19, 1924 in Milwaukee to Emil and Alice (nee Mintchell) Braun.

He married Jeanette Ebner on Nov. 3, 1961 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.

Jerry was an administrator for the Milwaukee Public Schools for 36 years.

He was an active member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran church and was currently a member of Divine Savior. He enjoyed golfing, running and playing cards.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette; his five children, Gerald (Catherine) Jr. of Whitefish Bay, William (Marcy) of Madison, Kathryn (David) Smith of Ixonia, Cynthia (David) Brown of Milwaukee, and Donna (Steven) Roozen of Sussex; 11 grandchildren, Nicholas, Timothy, Andrew, Jessica, Alexander, Maxwell, Conner, Otto, Grace, Gretchen and Hannah; and one great-grandson, Jackson. Jerry is further survived by other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his six siblings, Bernice Guschel, Kenneth Braun, Pearl Graff Accola, Robert Braun, Audrey Hetchler and Donald Braun.

The funeral service for Jerry was Monday, April 9, 2007 at Divine Savior Lutheran Church, Hartford, with Rev. Ricky Schroeder officiating.

Family greeted relatives and friends on Monday at the church prior to the service.

Interment was at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Divine Savior Lutheran Church or the charity of one’s choice are appreciated.

Shimon Funeral Home in Hartford assisted the family.
