Barbara G. Mecca
Barbara G. Mecca, nee Frey, 91, of West Bend was born to eternal life on Sunday, April 22, 2007 at the Health Care Center of Cedar Community.
She was born on May 2, 1915 in Boscobel to the late Fredrick L. and Edna R. (nee Monroe) Frey.
For 20 years, Barbara worked with the American Red Cross in a variety of areas. During that time, she spent five years in Orleans, France.
On July 3, 1964, she was united in marriage to Andrew Mecca in Oscota, Mich., where they made their home.
Following Andy’s death on June 18, 1986, Barbara moved to West Bend, where she lived up to the time of her death.
She was a member of St. Luke Church in Slinger, the National Button Club, the Junior Women’s Club and the National Bridge Association.
Survivors include two dear stepdaughters, Linda Thiele of California and Sharon (Bejan) Iranpour of Rochester, N.Y.; three step-grandchildren, Jessica Thiele and Jasmine and Darious Iranpour; and a loving sister, Fran (Jay Nelson) Fordham of West Bend.
She is also survived and dearly loved by nieces, nephews and many good friends.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Rudy, Ray and Howard, and a sister, Jean Fer-rick.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 28, at 11 a.m. at St. Luke Church, 4860 Arthur Road, Slinger, with Rev. Rick Lawrence officiating.
The family will greet relatives and friends during a reception following the service.
Burial of the cremated remains will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va.
