Ralph E. Roethle

Ralph E. Roethle of Hartford passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2007 at his residence at Cedar Bay in West Bend. He was 84 years old.

He was born April 20, 1922 in Hartford to Fred and Angeline (nee Hetzel) Roethle. He married Dolores Hahn on Sept. 28, 1946 at St. Kilian Catholic Church, Hartford.

Ralph was a member of St. Kilian Church, the Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus and the Hartford Senior Friends.

He acted as president of the St. Kilian Home and School Association and also dedicated himself to the Hartford Union High School Board for seven years.

He served his country during WWII as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He was a member of the Hartford VFW Post #8834 and had been post commander. Ralph worked for Chrysler Outboard for more than 40 years as a supervisor.

After retirement, Ralph worked at various jobs, including being a greeter at K-Mart and here at the Shimon Funeral Home since opening its doors in 1998.

When people would walk through these doors they were probably warmly greeted by Ralph.

He was very dedicated and caring to all who entered the funeral home.

He enjoyed his flower gardens, especially those in his back yard. When he didnít garden at home, he planted and nurtured the flowers all around St. Kilian Church for years.

His other love was music, especially singing in the church choir.

C., Philip (Julie) of Reisterstown, Md., Gary (Joan) of Louisville, Ky., and Suzanne (Mark) Yanke of West Bend; 12 grandchildren, Becky, Scott (Alana), Heather (Jason), Matt, Alissa, Paul, Chris, Justin, Mike (Kate), Alison (Matt), Danielle, and Taylor; a great grandchild, Savanna; two sisters, Dolores Cosentino of Watertown and Margaret Salmon of Sheboygan; a brother, John (Grace) Roethle of Watertown; two sisters-in-law, Mary Hahn of Hartford and Joyce Hahn of Hartford.
