Robert R. Reuter

Robert R. Reuter, 73, of West Bend, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at Froedtert Memorial Hospital in Wauwatosa.

He was born on May 30, 1933 in the town of Barton to the late George and Dorthy (nee Fuller) Reuter. Robert was united in marriage to Shirley Abel on June 9, 1956 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend.

Robert worked at Regal Ware in Kewaskum for 27 years and then for the city of West Bend in the Parks Department for 17 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, West Bend.

He enjoyed fishing even though his lures always got stuck somewhere, working in his garden, bird watching and playing Sheepshead.

Robert is survived by his wife, Shirley; three children, Cindy (Michael) Tomko of Eagle River, Terry Reuter of West Bend and Debbie (Gary) Puestow of West Bend; four grandchildren, Tracy (Randy) Rein, Michelle (Lee) Sommerfeld, Jesse (Maria) Reuter, and Jason Tomko; five great-grandchildren, Miranda, Shawn, Zachary, Lilly and Faith; a sister, Audrey (Roger) Heberer of Campbellsport; a sister-in-law, Lucille (Arland) Seyfert of West Bend, three brothers-in-law, Milton (Lorraine) Abel of Random Lake, John (Ruth) Abel of Eagle River and Virgil Hackbarth of West Bend; his phone buddy, Raymond Fuller, his canine companions, Misty and Muffy; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather, Roy Meyer; a sister, Mary Hackbarth, two brothers, George Reuter and John Reuter; his parents-in-law, John and Esther Abel, a sister-in-law, Lucille Abel; two brothers-in-law, Alois Braun, and Ray Abel and his wife, Jeanette Abel.

Funeral services for Robert will be held on Sunday, April 29 at 5 p.m. at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 7750 Highway 144, West Bend, with Rev. Robert Korytkowski officiating.

Visitation will be at the church only, on Sunday from 2 p.m. until the time of service.

Burial will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend, on Monday at 1 p.m.
