Pauline Schepens, 90
Pauline Schepens (nee Busse), 90, of West Bend died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007 at SynergyHealth St. Joseph’s Hospital in the town of Polk. She was born Sept. 11, 1916 in Milwaukee to the late Victor and Mary (nee Strietzel) Busse.
Pauline was a country school teacher in Mullens School before she entered the U.S. Army as a teacher, educating illiterate soldiers. Following her discharge she taught in Fillmore and Boltonville before moving to West Bend where she taught at Barton Elementary and Badger Middle school retiring in 1981. She then volunteered at the Threshold in a teaching capacity.
She was a member of the Wisconsin Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include her sister-in-law Loretta Busse of West Bend and six nieces and nephews: Mary Busse, Gretchen Busse and Tony Busse all of West Bend, Tom (Cara) Busse of Kewaskum and Katherine and Michael Busse of West Bend. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Pauline is preceded in death by her brother Clarence Busse.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Aug. 20, at 12 noon at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Rev. Richard Wendell presiding. Burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, at the church only from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.
