Mary Jane Hildebrand, 85
Mary Jane Hildebrand, nee Sullivan, of West Bend passed away on Aug. 15, 2007, at the Kahl Home for the Aged, in Davenport, Iowa. She was born on Oct. 18, 1921 in St. Louis, Mo. to the late William J. and Lillian (nee OíMeara) Sullivan. On Aug. 16, 1947, she was united in marriage to Myron E. "Mike" Hildebrand at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in St. Louis. Mike predeceased Mary Jane on April 13, 2004.
After graduating from high school, Jane attended Harris Teachers Col-lege and Washington University in St. Louis and later received her masterís degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Jane taught at West Bend public schools and for many years prior to her retirement she taught at St. Frances Cabrini School.
She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Parish in West Bend and St. Theresa Parish in Three Lakes and the Christian Womenís Confraternity at St. Frances Cabrini Church. Jane was active in a variety of community and parish charitable programs, including Citizen Advo-cacy of Washington County and pro-life activities. Jane served as a Christian formation teacher and shared her deep faith in Christ with all who knew her. Her kind and compassionate heart, joyful and generous spirit, and her sure faith in God will be missed by her family and friends. Jane was truly an example of a life well lived.
Survivors include three children, William of New Rochelle, N.Y., Stephen (Roberta) of Fond du Lac and Kim (Jennifer) of Princeton, Iowa; four grandchildren, Lisa, Allison, Annie and Rob; a brother and sister John F. (Joanne) Sullivan of St. Louis, Mo., and Sr. Mary William, Daughters of Charity of Austin, Texas and other relatives and friends. Her brother, William J. (Ruth) Sullivan of St. Louis, Mo., predeceased her in 2004. She was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Les and Ed Hildebrand and one sister-in-law Irene Hildebrand.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Aug. 17, 4 to 7:30 p.m., at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend, with a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, Aug. 18 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park.
