Louis A. Danielson Sr.

Louis A. Danielson Sr., 97, formerly of Jackson, died on Friday, Aug. 17, 2007 at the Health Care Center of Cedar Community, West Bend.

He was born on July 13, 1910 in Gladstone, Mich. to the late Louis and Sophie (nee Ohman) Daniel-son.

In 1926, the family moved to Superior, where Louis graduated from high school in 1928.

He then started working for the Soo Line Railroad, and shortly thereafter returned to Gladstone.

In addition to working for the railroad, he also worked as a motion picture projectionist.

In 1939, he moved to Shawano and worked at the Crescent Theater for 27 years.

On January 6, 1940, Louis was united in marriage to Madonna A. Derosha in Shawano. Madon-na predeceased Dec. 31, 1991.

After Louis retired from his railroad job in 1968, the couple moved to Jackson.

Louis then worked at Badger Lab until retiring from there in 1975.

He was a member of Local 553 AIW at Badger Lab, and served as the financial secretary.

Survivors include three children, Louis A. (Darline) Jr. of Cecil, Janice Krueger of Las Vegas, Nev. and Daniel (Sharon) of West Bend; a son-in-law, John Bemis of Cedarburg; a daughter-in-law, Norma Hiam of Batangas City, Phillipines; 19 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Freeman of Lake Orion, Mich.; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Louis was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Bemis; a son, George; two grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Viola Greenless; a brother, Joel; and two brothers-in-law, Jim Freeman and Benjamin Green-less.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 20, at 4 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, Jackson, with Chaplain Cheryl Matusiak officiating.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday from 2 until 3:45 p.m.

The family has requested memorials to the American Cancer Society.

Louis’ family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Cedar Community for the care and compassion shown to Louis, and also to the residents for the friendship extended to him.
