Anna I. Hausmann

Anna I. Hausmann, nee Schmitt, 83, of West Bend, died on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007 at her residence.

She was born on Oct. 27, 1923 in the town of Wayne at the home of her parents, Joseph and Catherine (nee German) Schmitt.

Anna lived and worked on the family farm until her marriage to Jerome F. Hausmann on June 29, 1946 at St. Kilianís Catholic Church in St. Kilian, the same church where she was baptized and confirmed.

Following their marriage, the couple moved to Barton where she worked for Ottenís Food Mart.

In 1950, they settled in West Bend.

After their children were grown, Anna worked for the former Wisconsin Bell Telephone Co., retiring on April 3, 1987 after 21 years of service.

Anna and Jerry, along with their family, did a lot of camping, fishing and traveling to many different places for campouts.

They belonged to the West Bend Kettle Kampers for many years.

She was also a member of Wisconsin Bell Pioneers of America, Holy Angels Christian Womenís Confraternity, Holy Angels Mission Circle and Holy Angels Parish.

She also served as a troop leader with the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.

Survivors include her husband Jerry; two children, Jean (Jim) Gorman of West Bend and Mark (Becky) of Waupaca; five grandchildren, Jeff (Jo) Meyer of Maplewood, Minn., Jill (Brian) Zimmerman of Watertown, Callie Hausmann, Kelsey Hausmann and Max Hausmann; three great-grandchildren, Justin, Jessica and Jordan Meyer; a sister, Rose Kuehl of Kewaskum; two brothers, Alfred (Rita) Schmitt of West Bend and Joseph Schmitt; two sisters-in-law, Bernice Wollner and Lorraine (Roman) Puestow, both of West Bend; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley; a son-in-law, John Meyer; five brothers, Roland, Ervin, Herbert, Peter and Paul Schmitt; brothers-in-law; and sisters-in-law.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Aug. 23 at 7 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church, West Bend, with Fr. Richard Wendell presiding.

Burial will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Angels Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church only on Thursday from 4 until 6:45 p.m.

The family has requested memorials to the Holy Angels School Trust Fund.
