Jay Alec Greuel

Jay Alec Greuel, 39, of Daingerfield, Texas, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 in Pittsburg, Texas. Alec was born Nov. 18, 1967 in Hartford and he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a gunsmith, a volunteer fireman in Wisconsin and a machinist.

He is survived by his two daughters, Sarah Gail Greuel and West Bend and Trisha Greuel of Fond du Lac; his son, Justin Greuel of Fond du Lac; his mother and her husband, Sharon and Pete Vandenberg of Lone Star; his father and his wife, Roland and Shirley Greuel of Hustisford; three sisters, Sheli Nelson of Daingerfield, Crystal Kunz and Molly Yarr, both of Wisconsin; five brothers, Kevin Greuel, Matthew Greuel, and Cornell Kunz, all of Wisconsin, Terry Bridges of Las Vegas and Larry Bridges of Idaho. Several other relatives also survive.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer and Virginia Greuel and Fred and Kay Bodenloop; two brothers, Conrad and Scott; brother-in-law, Dave Nelson; and his uncle, Jeff Greuel.

A memorial service for Jay was Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007 at First Baptist Church in Cason, with Rev. Scott Darby officiating. Visitation was on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007 at Nail-Haggard Funeral Home in Daingerfield prior to the service.
