Clinton L. Jostad
Clinton L. Jostad, of West Bend, entered into eternal peace on Monday, Aug. 20, 2007 after 85 years of life.
Clinton was born on Jan. 28, 1922, the son of Mandly and Mabel (nee Staff) Jostad in Holmen.
He attended La Crosse Teachers’ College and thereafter entered into the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.
During his service to his country, Clinton achieved the rank of staff sergeant and received seven medals and one presidential citation. He was active in the Pacific Theater.
Clinton was a member of C.S.M., the American Legion Post 1398, the Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, the board of the Salvation Army and Peoria City Beautiful.
He will be missed by his loving wife, Marie N. (nee deMestre) Jostad; his son, Scott P. (Robert McGlowne) Jostad of Chicago; his daughter, Renee K. Jostad (Joe Thomas) of St. Louis, Mo.; and his son, Stephen E. (Mary) Jostad of Peoria; grandchildren, Eric and Evan Jostad; sisters, Muriel Charlie of Kentucky, Norma (Hugo) Goodrum of California and Doris (Gordon) Kriehn of Milwaukee; and his sister-in-law, Patricia Heath of Australia.
He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, other special relatives and many dear friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Edith Ratliff.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Aug. 24, at 12;30 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home, Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend.
Visitation with family and friends will be held Friday at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12;30 p.m.
Interment of ashes will take place in Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield at 10:30 p.m. on Monday.
The Jostad Family would like to request that memorials are donated, in lieu of flowers, to the Salvation Army.
