Leona E. Berndt

Leona E. Berndt, nee Wenzlaff, of West Bend, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007 at Kathy Hospice, after 84 years of life.

Leona was born on Jan. 8, 1923, the daughter of August and Christina (nee Boden) Wenzlaff in the Barton area, where she was also raised.

She was a dedicated employee of the West Bend Aluminum Co. during World War II, and later worked and retired from Amity Leather Products.

During her free time, she enjoyed golfing, gardening, and most of all, loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Leona was a member of the 25-Year Club at Amity, and the Legion of Mary at Holy Angels Catholic Church.

Leona will be deeply missed by her loving children, Sharon (David) Clark and Marvin (Beverly) Berndt, both of West Bend; her dear grandchildren, Vicki Clark of Madison, Randy Clark of Cascade and Jason Berndt, Scott Clark and Kelly Berndt, all of West Bend; and two brothers, Walter (Gladys) Wenzlaff and Ralph Wenzlaff (Gloria Bonlender), both of West Bend.

She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, other special relatives and dear friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a sister, Lucille Scheerer; four brothers, Edward, Sylves-ter, Elmer and Werner; and a granddaughter, Amy Berndt.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Monday, Aug. 27, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 138 N. Eighth Ave., West Bend, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial.

Private interment will take place in Holy Angels Catholic Cemetery, West Bend.

Memorials are appreciated in lieu of flowers to the Kathy Hospice.
