Michael Alan Grulke
Michael Alan Grulke, 37, of Beaver Dam passed away after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, Aug. 27, 2007.
He was born on July 29, 1970, in Watertown, the son of Harvey and Carol (nee Ziegler) Grulke.
Michael attended Bethany Ev. Lutheran Grade School and Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School in Jackson. He graduated from Tech School in Fond du Lac.
Michael worked as a cook at Bublitz’s Restaurant in Hartford many years ago.
He also was employed at Hupf’s Repair in Beaver Dam until he was diagnosed with leukemia in 2004.
Michael belonged to various antique tractor clubs in the state and restored antique tractors.
He is survived by his mom, Carol; his dad, Harvey; his sister, Mary Beth Hersey; and his fiancee, Jody Zahringer of Stockbridge.
Further surviving are numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, especially his favorite cousin, Lynann of Michigan.
Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ewald and Minnie Grulke, and his maternal grandparents, Earl and Wanita Ziegler.
Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 30, from 4 to 8 p.m., and on Friday, Aug. 31, from noon to 2 p.m. at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, Hustisford.
Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the church.
The Revs. Timothy Bauer and David Pries will officiate, and interment will be in Hustisford Cemetery.
The Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home-Hustisford is serving the family.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of the cancer unit on B6 East of the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison for the loving care given to Michael.
