George E. Hiller Jr.
George E. Hiller Jr., 88, of Land ‘O Lakes, died on Friday, Dec. 7, 2007 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Milwaukee.
He was born July 28, 1919 in the town of Farmington to George Sr. and Clara Hiller. He was raised in the town of Farmington and attended Boltonville Grade School and West Bend High School.
George married Grace Laatsch on Nov. 23, 1940 at St. Martin’s Evangelical Church in Fillmore.
The couple farmed in Cascade before retiring and moving to Land ‘O Lakes in 1974.
He was a member of the Congregational UCC in Phelps.
George loved farming, gardening and fishing.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 67 years, Grace; a brother, Ralph (Mildred) Hiller of Random Lake; sisters-in-law, Mae Laatsch of Lake Mills and Gladys Hiller of West Bend; two sons, George C. (Joyce) Hiller III of Newburg and Richard (Marjorie) Hiller of Phelps; four grandchildren, Kerri Cable (Jim Koutsios) of Slinger, George Scott (Betsy) Hiller IV of West Bend, Tammi Hiller of West Bend and Lisa Hiller of Phelps; and two great-grandchildren, Marc and Marina.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Herbert of West Bend; and a brother-in-law, Howard Laatsch of Lake Mills.
A memorial service will be held at the Phelps Congregational Church at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the services.
The Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home, Eagle River, is assisting the family.
