Beatrice Kissel Schauer
Beatrice Kissel Schauer of Hartford passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 24, 2007 at her residence. She was 98 years old.
She was born on June 17, 1909 to Otto Paul and Lillie (nee Bloor) Kissel, and married Frederick W. Schauer on Sept. 26, 1933 at her home on South Street.
Bea was a member of the First United Metho-dist Church in Hartford, the Schauer Fine Arts Center, an honorary member of the Medical Center Foundation of Hartford and the Hart-ford Foundation, which was started by her husband and Don Lieven.
Bea attended and graduated from local schools and received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison in 1932.
She was very interested in improving the quality of life for all the people of Hartford by donating her time, resources and talents.
Bea is survived by her cousin James (Karen) Bloor of Ocono-mowoc.
Further surviving are other relatives and many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by husband, Fred-erick Schauer.
Memorial funeral services for Bea will be held Wednesday, Jan. 2, at 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Hartford, with Rev. Brian Kundinger officiating.
Visitation will be at the church only on Wednesday from noon until 1 p.m.
Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery prior to the memorial visitation and service.
Anyone wishing may come to the cemetery; committal services will be held at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Schauer Fine Arts Center, Medical Center Foundation of Hartford or First United Metho-dist Church are appreciated.
