Charlotte L. Ramel

Charlotte L. Ramel, 86, of the town of Scott, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007, at Cedar Lake Health Care Center in the town of West Bend, where she had been a resident for the last 2 1/2 years.

She was born on Dec. 16, 1921, in the town of Farming-ton, the daughter of the late Oscar and Alvina (Jaehnig) Hauch, and was a 1938 graduate of West Bend High School.

On May 8, 1943, she was united in marriage to Orville W. Ramel at Fillmore Evangelical Church in the town of Farmington.

The couple farmed in the town of Scott for 43 years and were married for 54 years.

Orville preceded his wife in death on June 29, 1997.

Charlotte was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Scott and a longtime member of the Ladies Aid and the Women’s Evening Guild.

She was also a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML), where she served as zone president for two years.

Survivors include four children, Janice Gerzevske of War-renville, Ill., Phyllis (Kenton) Huchthausen of Wisconsin Rapids, Mark (Debra) Ramel and James (Deborah) Ramel, both of rural Random Lake; a brother, Paul (Joyce) Hauch of West Bend; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Hauch of Shoreview, Minn.; a niece, Ann; 11 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by a brother, Lowell Hauch and a son-in-law, Harland Gerzev-ske.

Funeral services for Charlotte will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 31, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Scott.

Rev. Kurt Ziemann will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from noon until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum has been entrusted with Charlotte’s arrangements.
