Josephine "Josie" A. Behling

Josephine "Josie" A. Behling, nee Cartus, 66, of Hartford passed away on Friday, Dec. 21, 2007 at Cedar Lake Health & Rehabilitation Center in West Bend after a short battle with an illness.

She was born March 24, 1941 in the town of West Bend to Joseph and Eunice (nee Klein) Cartus, and married Norman Behling on Nov. 24, 1960 at Holy Angels Church in West Bend.

Josie was a homemaker and worked various part-time jobs in Hartford. She is best remembered for working at the VFW Hall, the Shell gas station and Grand Dads Bakery.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Norman; three children, Connie (Scott) Metz of Hartford, Robin (Kenneth) Yurske of Hartford and Joseph Behling of Hartford; a precious grandchild, Victoria Metz; a sister, Katherine (Ronald) Schlefke of Nekoosa; three brothers-in-law, David Sauer of Campbellsport, George (Edna) Behling of Newark, Ohio and Roy (Ruth) Behling of Iron Ridge; and four sisters-in-law, Marie Behling of Slinger, Violet Behling of Mayville, Shirley Behling of Sheboygan Falls and Jean (Wayne) Koester of Hustisford.

She is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Josie is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Eunice Cartus; a sister, Marie Sauer; three brothers-in-law, Edward Behling, Lloyd Behling and Ronald Behling; a nephew, Scott Schlefke; and a niece, Jeanette Schmidt.

Funeral Services for Josie will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 2, at 7 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford, with Rev. Ricky Schroeder officiating.

Family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday at the funeral home from 3 to 7 p.m.

Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford on Thursday, Jan. 3, at 10 am.
