She worked as a registered nurse at St. Luke’s in Milwaukee, St. Joseph’s Community Hospital in West Bend and for 25 years at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend.

Joyce had always resided in West Bend and was a lifelong member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in West Bend.
Her hobbies included gardening, reading and taking family vacations.
She often said her grandchildren were really her "only hobby" and the "love of her life."

She is further survived by her sister, Janet Stockhausen; her brother, John (Diane) Stock-hausen; a nephew, Bradley; a niece, Ashley; and other relatives and numerous friends.
She will forever be in our hearts and in the hearts of so many that she touched.
Joyce was greeted in heaven by her much missed parents; her aunt, Veronica Peters who was her godmother; her uncle, Cyril Stockhausen who was her god-father; and other family and friends who have gone before her.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Grade School in Jefferson, where her grandchildren attend, the Samaritan Health Center where she was a faithful nurse or the charity of the donor’s choice.
The Schmidt Funeral Home of West Bend is serving the family.
Joyce’s family would like to thank all the people who took care of Joyce this last year, and friends and family who gave their time to be with her. We are forever grateful for the joy you brought to her.
