Raymond L. Wenzel

Raymond L. Wenzel, 92, of Hartford was born to eternal life on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007.

He was born Jan. 7, 1915, the son of Edward and Pauline (nee Bentzler) Wenzel, and married Bernice Pundt in 1944 at St. Kilianís Parish.

"Roundy" served his country in the United States Army during World War II.

Roundy was a golf pro, and he and his wife managed and operated Hartford Golf Club for over 30 years.

He and Bee also managed Harthaven in Hartford for 27 years.

Roundy was a past member of Hartford Lions Club, Hartford Community Chorus and sang in a barbershop quartet and St. Kilianís choir.

He bowled in a league for many years, and played baseball in the Land ĎO Lakes League.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice; a daughter, Nancy Furru of Menomonee Falls; two sons, Keith Wenzel of West Bend and Brian Wenzel of Milwaukee; his grandchildren, Fawn Gabrielson of Milwaukee and Elle-Anna Wenzel of Milwaukee; a brother, James (Dorothy) Wenzel of St. Germaine; a brother-in-law, Arthur (Ruth) Pundt; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gerald.

Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 3, at St. Kilianís Church from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m.

Rev. David LaPlante will officiate, and interment will be in St. Kilianís Cemetery.
